Would you like a chance to get it made? If so, John Jameson Productions has launched a competition for you. All you have to do is, in 200 words or less, describe your idea for a short film with an unexpected ending. A panel of film industry professionals will be choosing 8 finalists and eventually 3 winners. The 3 screenplays will then be put into production with a $20,000 budget each. Entries close April 30th!

There are two rounds of judging. All the initial 200 word entries will be read by a group of professional script-readers, writers, directors or producers. They will gradually get the list down to eight finalists. The final eight screenplays will be judged by a panel of well-known industry professionals. No experience necessary, just a good idea with an unexpected ending in less than 200 words. Oh, and you must be over 18

Ledger has last laugh.

April 9th 2008 05:06
It seems the late Heath Ledger continues to grab the spotlight almost 3 months after his unfortunate demise. Warner Brothers has released new images of the late actor from the soon to be released THE DARK NIGHT. Images featuring the late actor wielding a gun with the trademark evil grin are among a number of stills being used to promote the latest installment in the Batman franchise.

Featuring heavily in the trailer for the film while Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Christian Bale barely rating a mention it seems all the buzz is about a posthumous Oscar® nod for Ledger’s last complete role. But with Heath’s ‘Joker’ the main feature of the poster while the UK born actor Christian Bale who reprises his role as Batman misses out entirely there is talk of the studios cashing in on the accidental death of the Perth born actor
