Tribeca launches REFRAME! (LINK)

The Tribeca Film Institute has launched a new exciting initiative and website REFRAME (www.reframecollection.org).

Reframe has been created in an effort to make classic and hard-to-find films and content accessible to a wider audience and build a community hub for scholars, artists, teachers and film enthusiasts. We're working with filmmakers, archives, and distributors to digitize rare films that are currently "stuck on the shelf" and make them available for rent, purchase, and download on our web site, where we have experts curating film series by theme and topic

Script and Project Development. (LINK)

The Script and Project Development program aims to support the development of outstanding, original and creative Australian film and television projects suitable for financing and with a demonstrable economic benefit to South Australia.
Projects must be a feature film, a television drama series, or mini-series, or telemovie or broadcast length documentary. This SAFC program does not fund the development of reality television, ‘infotainment’, ‘infomercials’, lifestyle programs, serials/soaps, short films, games, game shows, sports, variety or similar television programs, or corporate or educational/training programming.

7th Annual Awards Announced! (LINK)

The 7th Annual Ashland Independent Film Festival has wrapped after five days of packed theatres with approximately 80 percent of the festival's 130 films and events sold out. And with over 16,000 tickets sold to more than 7000 festival attendees the festival has once again been a remarkable success.

Eleven films received jury and audience awards, two received special mention and two filmmakers were honored with special awards

Sydney Film Festival also announced the winner of the Rouben Mamoulian Award as part of the 20th annual Dendy Awards for Australian Short Films – Summer Breaks directed by Sean Kruck and produced by Caroline Barry.

All six Dendy Awards were presented at the Sydney Opera House in conjunction with the Sydney Film Festival Officail Competition. The 15 shortlisted films were screened at the State Theatre on Friday 13 June

Sydney Film Festival Jury President Gillian Armstrong tonight announced UK film, Hunger, as the winner of the inaugural Sydney Film Prize. Hunger was awarded the Prize ahead of 11 other local and International films.
