AIFF Monthly Film Series Continues

For those of you in Ashland, Friday, August 15 there will be two special showings of Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson at the Varsity Theatre Friday, August 15 at 6:00p and 8:40p will benefit the AIFF. Johnny Depp narrates Oscar-winner Alex Gibney's (Taxi to the Darkside, Enron) look into the life of the inventor of gonzo journalism. A "wildly entertaining" documentary with an iconic soundtrack, the film addresses the major touchstones in Thompson's lifefrom the notorious story behind his landmark book Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas to his deep involvement in George McGoverns presidential campaign. Vanity Fair called the film "Absolutely riveting." The New York Observer said it is "The most absorbing film I have seen this year. GONZO IS A MUST-SEE FOR EVERYONE."
Tickets are discounted 25% for AIFF members and are available now at the Varsity Theatre box office. The screenings continue a monthly series of Southern Oregon premieres and encores of Film Festival favorites showing on selected Fridays through November at the Varsity.
