On the eve of Anzac Day, Paramount Pictures, the Ritz Cinema and the Australian Film Festival present a very special presentation of the wonderful new Australian WW1 drama 'Beneath Hill 60.'
BENEATH HILL 60 is an Australian War Movie set underneath the trenches of World War I. This never-before told Australian story is set in 1916 - where Queensland miner Oliver Woodward, under-trained and having never faced hostile fire before, finds himself on the Western Front, the bloodiest battlefield in history.
The film tells the true story of a contingent of Australian miners given the task of breaking a deadlock between Allied and German forces on the western front, by tunnelling past enemy lines and detonating explosives under enemy trenches.
The screening includes a Q & A with the director, Jeremy Sims and is hosted by the director of the Australian Film Festival, Barry Watterson.
As well, everyone who purchases a ticket will be in a draw to win dinner for 2 (worth $80.00) at El Bulli restaurant.
A great Australian film, a Q & A with one of Australia's best filmmakers and the chance to finish the night with a fantastic dinner at a great restaurant, and all for the price of a movie ticket!
