Here's a little snippet from an email I was sent recently focusing primarily on supporting women in film in the UK. If this interests you at all then go over to their website and see whats going on!
CANNES 2008: THE WOMEN
Following the success of last year's BEV panel at Cannes, this year we're
teaming up with the UK Film Council to bring together a panel featuring some of
the talented women showing their work there, and finding out how they made it.
Top tips and inspiration, with some female friendly networking. The panel will
be chaired by Laura Macdonald (Birds Eye View, Filmaka).
So, if you're heading South...
Date: Saturday 17th May, 4.30-5.30pm
Venue: UK Film Pavilion
What's more, following the panel BEV will be screening a fantastic selection of
short films, past and present, as part of the Women in Film and Television
reception, Kodak Pavilion, 6.30pm.
And that's not all...
CANNES IN A VAN 2008
The cherry on top: two blokes, a van, and a fantastic selection of sell-out
Birds Eye View Opening Night Shorts rolling around the Riviera - genius! Catch
'em while you Cannes from 16th-24th May.

BRANCHAGE CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
From one beachside festival to another, Jersey's very own 'boutique film
festival', Branchage, is now open for submissions and wants your films -
features, short and docs.
The Branchage team is headed up by friends of BEV, including Xanthe Hamilton
whose short Flora and the Thieves featured in the 2008 fest, LSFF and LFF
shorts programmer Phil Ilson and Fiona Fletcher, BEV's very own programmer.
The fest is taking place from 25-28th September and the deadline for the first
round of submissions is 4th June 2008. Visit http://www.branchagefestival.com/
