BLESSED BEGINS.

The third collaboration between director Ana Kokkinos and writer Andrew Bovell, BLESSED is set to begin filming this November in Melbourne. Based on the the critically fêted play ‘Who’s Afraid of the Working Class’ the film links together four stories which follow the emotional and gripping misadventures of six children as they wander the streets over a period of 24 hours.
BLESSED also reunites Kikkinos with producer Al Clark (PRISCILLA, CHOPPER) as well as bringing on board Internationally renowned editor Jill Bilcock and award winnining cinematographer Geoff Burton to headline an impressive production team.
With William McInnes, Wayne Blair, Monica Maughan and Tasma Walton, all proficient actors, providing the experience and support, the cast heralds a host of impressive newcomers in Anastasia Babouassouras, Sophie Lowe, Eamon Farren, Eva Lazzaro, Reef Ireland and Harrison Gilbertson star as the children in this narrative about the depth of love between mothers and their children and the energy that eventually connects us all.
Funding for BLESSED, a Wildheart Zizani production, has been provided by Screen Australia, Film Victoria, MIFF Premiere Fund, Head Gear Films and Icon Film Distribution, who will also handle domestic distribution. Bankside Films will serve as international sales agent.
The film is likely to be set for distribution around this time next year.
