Creative arts practitioners and screen content producers go digital
Western Australian arts practitioners and digital content producers have the opportunity to secure up to $100,000 for an online interactive work celebrating and highlighting WA arts to be hosted by ABC TV.
The funding is available for up to two projects through iArts 2, a joint initiative of Department of Culture and the Arts, ABC TV and ScreenWest.
Amanda Duthie, Head of Arts, Entertainment, ABC TV says “in the world of computers, mobiles and portable media players, screen content is increasingly an interactive process that directly engages with the audience where and when they want.”
“The ideas and collaboration of artists, arts organisations and digital creators to make interactive art projects for all Australians is a unique opportunity and we look forward to launching these projects.”
The works selected for production will utilise social networking to interact with the target audience and other arts stakeholders as part of the creative process. An accompanying short documentary following the process will screen on ABC TV which will complement the online work.

A free iArts 2 workshop will be held for arts practitioners and digital content producers to find out more. The workshop will include speed networking sessions so arts organisations and practitioners and digital producers can meet each other.
