Digi SPAA 3 has received 18 entries in its annual competition for digital filmmakers building on the success of previous years which saw 13 entries in 2005 and 17 entries in 2006.

With filmmakers embracing the concept of creating ‘Digi’ movies and the increasing number of entries each year from across Australia and New Zealand Digi SPAA has become a proven forum from which aspiring filmmakers can launch their career. The style of filmmaking is extremely diverse with most genres tackled including mystery, thriller, romance, comedy, horror and serious drama.

Finalists are in the running to win $15,000 cash and $20,000 worth of post production sponsored by MOVIE NETWORK, plus a guaranteed screening on the MOVIE EXTRA channel and return trip to the prestigious Rotterdam Cinemart international feature film market.
SPAA has confirmed acclaimed indie UK producer Mark Herbert as a keynote speaker for the annual Conference being held 13 to 16 November at the Sheraton Mirage Resort on Queensland's Gold Coast.

On October 26 and 27 , the four finalists will have their films screened at the Chauvel Cinema in Paddington, Sydney with the two Grand Finalists announced at the Fringe closing night with the ultimate winner announced at the SPAA Conference in November on the Gold Coast.
