Filmwalker Productions presents Los Angeles premiere of feature film.
Filmwalker Productions will present the feature film “Dreams and Shadows”, written and directed by Tamarat Makonnen. Starring veteran actor James Russo (“Donnie Brasco” & “Public Enemies”) and up and coming talent Shawn-Caulin Young.
The film will screen at AFI (American Film Institute), the Mark Goodson Screening Room. 2021 N. Western Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90027-1657 (323) 856-7600. Doors open at 7:00pm (screening starts at 7:30pm).

Synopsis :
Billy is a teenage outcast in search of his life's true meaning. Day by day, he slaves away at the local burger joint, only to return home to a paraplegic father, whose own dreams of happiness have faded away in an alcoholic haze. Nonetheless, Billy tries to bond with his delusional father, but cannot break through the many layers of pain and regret that surround him. Frustrated, Billy longs to escape the dead-end existence that has engulfed his father, and now appears to be closing in on him as well.
It's only within the confines of his small bedroom that Billy truly feels alive. Closing his eyes, he allows his vivid imagination to take over, sweeping him away from his bleak surroundings, and into a world of fantasy. In his dreams, Billy is no longer the misfit, but a brave warrior roaming freely. Along with his best friend Sarah, Billy travels blissfully through this imaginary world, only to awaken once again to the grim reality he struggles so hard to escape.
In an attempt to rejuvenate his father, Billy hatches a plot to seek revenge on the man who allegedly crippled his father many years ago. This decision puts Billy face to face with the one thing he has yearned for so long to attain: a purpose. As Billy embarks on his mission, he soon finds that things aren't always what they seem, as his mission for revenge may ultimately become a mission for his very own survival.
About James Russo
"Dreams and Shadows" is actor James Russo's 99th film in a career that spans over three decades. A Manhattan-born character player who attended New York University, Russo received his20first big break in the film "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" (1982). Known for portraying gritty and intense characters, one only needs to be reminded of his sadistically sexual role in "Extremities" on stage (in which he won a 1983 Theatre World) and in the film (in which he terrorized Farrah Fawcett), to recall how chillingly effective he can be. Other roles in films include Kevin Costner's "The Postman" (1997) and "Open Range" (2003), plus "Beverly Hills Cop" (1984) and "We're No Angels" (1989). He's also appeared in several films with Johnny Depp including "Donnie Brasco" (1996), Roman Polanski's "The Ninth Gate" (1999) and the recently released "Public Enemies" directed by Michael Mann.
