Eurasia Film Festival 0pening tonight

The 3rd International Eurasia Film Festival is underway in Andalya Turkey. Running for 10 days from the 19th to the 28th of October, EFF has an dazzling line that would equal any of the more prestigious festivals throughout the world. Among the guest celebrities of the 3rd International Eurasia Film Festival is The legendary French actress Jacqueline Bisset who has worked with prominent names such as John Huston, François Truffaut, George Cukor and Roman Polanski and has taken roles opposite stars such as Anthony Quinn, Linda Hamilton, Paul Newman, Leelee Sobieski and Candice Bergen.
The legendary director Francis Ford Coppola will receive the festival's Honour Award by the Festival's Honorary President Menderes Türel and the Festival President Engin Yiðitgil and the French actress Sophie Marceau who will be the guest of the festival as the director of "Trivial" ("La Disparue de Deauville), her latest directorial which is a part of the International Competition section of the 3rd International Eurasia Film Festival
The festival will also see the launch of the latest endeavour of British Director Nicolas Roeg with the Turkish premiere of PUFFBALL. Roeg will be in attendance along with his leading lady Miranda Richardson. Described by Roeg as a story about "happiness, fear, loneliness, hope and love", "Puffball" features Donald Sutherland, the star of the Roeg's 1973 cult "Don't Look Now" alongside Kelly Reilly, Miranda Richardson and Rita Tushingham. He will also hold a talk on life and cinema with an audience made up of artists, members of the press and film students.
The members of the International Competition Jury of the 3rd International Eurasia Film who will evaluate the 11 films participating in the competition section and elect the winners in BEST FILM and BEST DIRECTOR. Famous Iranian director JAFAR PANAHI who is known for his unique films such as "The Circle", "The Mirror" and "The White Balloon" and was awarded a Golden Lion for "The Circle" in 2000 and a Silver Berlin Bear for his most recent creation "Offside" is the president of the International Competition jury. Other members of the jury are famous Russian producer and film music composer ANDREI SIGLE; the creator of "Blues Brothers"and "An American Werewolf in London", Hollywood director and producer JOHN LANDIS; prominent Turkish arthouse actress LALE MANSUR; star of the Chinese screen and Opera artist HAILU QIN; the name behind "The Prince & Me" and "Material Girl", American director MARTHA COOLIDGE and Oscar-nominated Iranian actress SHOHREH AGHDASHLOO ( THE FOG).
The International jury will award a US$75,000 prize for "Best Film" and $25,000 for "Best Director". The Eurasia Film Competition accepts solely full length fiction feature films. Only works over 60 minutes are eligible for the Competition.Only films presented in 35 mm format are eligible for the International Competition. All the English subtitled copies of the films selected for Competition will be screened in their original language with digital Turkish subtitles
The creator of the "Elizabeth: The Golden Age", acclaimed British director Shekhar Kapur and Mamie Gummer, the daughter of Academy Award winner actress Meryl Streep will be meeting with cinema lovers in the stars line-up. Shekhar Kapur's most recent creation "Elizabeth: The Golden Age", starring Cate Blanchett, Geoffrey Rush and Clive Owen will close the 3rd International Eurasia Film Festival
