BRABOYS hit LA .
The Abberton boys and entourage have hit the US media circuit since arriving in LA last week with a multitude of media interviews in the leadup to the US premiere of their award winning documentary BRA BOYS. But it seems that trouble seems to seek out the Aussie surfers wherever they go with Koby Abberton denying he assaulted a man outside a Hawaiin club on March 8.
“They made a report of a guy with this coloured shirton and a tattoo on his neck and the guy (the victim) seen me and said ‘it’s not him’. I was around the area…..but it wasn’t me”, Abberton said after local police accused him of hitting a man who was attempting to break up a brawl.
It’s not the first time the Abbertons have brushed with the law after the hightly publicized murder trial of Jai Abberton in 2005. Jai Abberton admitted to shooting standover man Anthony Hines, but claimed self defense and was later acquitted while Koby was found guilty of perverting the course of justice,receiving a
9 month suspended sentence.
The Bra Boys said they expected Russel Crowe who narrated the documentary to attend the premiere last Sunday night, even though he is celebrating his anniversary and birthday the same night.
“I heard it’s his anniversary and his birthday, so we didn’t really pick a good night – we didn’t do our research, that’s for sure – but he said he’s going to come so we’ll see what happens”
Other celebrities attending included heiress Nicky Hilton, Heroes actor Milo Ventimiglia and surfers Kelly Slater and Laird Hamilton.
