Friday's feast of short films is here!
Flickerfest on EXTRA launched onto our TV screens this Friday night, 15th May at 10.30pm on Movie EXTRA with the TV premiere of two gems of Australian short film, comedian Frank Woodley's 'Chicken of God' and host Damian Walshe-Howling's film 'The Bloody Sweet Hit'. The first episode of our 7 week series serves up a feast of hilarious dark comedy, with each episode promising to entertain and enlighten audiences with the hottest new talents of Australian short film alongside classic award winners. All films are sourced from the vaults of Flickerfest favourites over the past 18 years.
After each short film, host Damian Walshe-Howling dives deep into conversation with the films' creators. In Episode One he talks with newly fledged film director and funny man Frank Woodley about the making of 'Chicken Of God', life after Lano and Woodley and the amazing talents of the Australian Animating community.
In our Director's Toolkit we learn how the most sought-after job in film is wrought with challenges. We talk to legends of the business Fred Schepisi, Rachel Griffiths and Greg McLean and learn why not everyone is cut out for this demanding job. Even one of Australia's great actors, Ben Mendelsohn, gives first time Directors a few hints on how to get the most out of their acting talent.
It's fun, it's film, it's Flickerfest On EXTRA bringing the big screen to the small screen over 7 fabulous weeks of inspiring short films, interviews and behind-the-scenes scenes with the hottest talent of the Australian film biz.
