DEBORRA-LEE FURNESS, HUGH JACKMAN AND CATE BLANCHETT TAKE TO THE SCREEN IN A SECOND SEASON OF FLiCKERFEST ON EXTRA!
2010 will see the return of Flickerfest on EXTRA, the original series created through the partnership of MOVIE EXTRA and Academy® Award accredited film festival Flickerfest. This second season will feature more stars, more films and more passion for short filmmaking!
Short film enthusiast, actor & director, Damian Walshe-Howling (Customs, Underbelly) returns to host this seven part series premiering exclusively on MOVIE EXTRA.
Damian will take us behind-the-scenes once again to discover what it takes to conquer the art of short filmmaking and talks to high profile stars who have delved into this form.
Deborra-lee Furness talks to us about her short film Standing Room Only starring Hugh Jackman whilst another celebrity couple Andrew Upton and Cate Blanchett team up for their short film Bangers.
Acclaimed actor and comedian Paul McDermott’s award-winning writing and directing is highlighted in his short The Girl Who Swallowed Bees and Cannes Camera D’or winning filmmaker Warwick Thornton (Samson and Delilah) gives us the background to his work in the short Nana.
Each week Flickerfest on EXTRA present the most innovative and creative short films Australia has to offer, insider
interviews, industry tips and more. (click here for more)
And to celebrate this second series, Flickerfest and Movie EXTRA have created an on-line competition. Viewers can vote for their favourite film each week, and tell us what makes a good short film. Winners will be drawn each week, with prizes from our sponsors Movie Extra, Hopscotch and Madman, FilmInk to be won.
And there is a grand prize draw at the end of the series, with a luxury weekend in Bondi, staying at the Swiss Grand Resort and Spa Bondi Beach, with dining at the Bondi Trattoria, movie packs and tickets to round it off!
Flickerfest on EXTRA will screen every Friday at 10:30pm with an encore screening on Sundays 4.00pm, starting this FRIDAY, 16th APRIL, 2010. DON'T MISS IT!
