FLICKERFEST Update.

Over the past week Flickerfest touring programme has experienced great success in Kempsey, Sawtell and Noosa with capacity crowds experienced in all venues and much enthusiasm for the shorts screened. Following on from this success Flickerfest is gearing up for their Brisbane leg of the tour to the Dendy George Street Cinema this Thursday, 28th Feb through to Sunday, 2nd March.
FINAL BRISBANE SCREENINGS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
Sat 1 Mar - 7:00pm - INTERNATIONAL 3
Sun 2 Mar - 3:30pm - THE BOLD, THE BRAVE & THE BEST - 30 Years of Australian Animation.
Flickerfest Director Bronwyn Kidd has travelled to Brisbane to present the programmes and to host a free marketing and distribution seminar at Qpix 3pm Friday the 29th of February.
Curator of ‘The Bold The Brave and The Best’ Brisbane born animator Anthony Lucas will also travel to Brisbane to introduce his programme alongside his Brisbane cohort legendary QLD animator Max Bannah.
Screening alongside the international shorts will be the following Brisbane shorts from the Flickerfest Australian competition, the hilarious Carpool starring Kerry Armstrong and Yolk fresh from recent success in Berlin.
Following the Brisbane tour Flickerfest also jets off to Perth on the 6th - 9th March at the Camelot Outdoor Picture Garden www.lunapalace.com.au, screening: International 1, 2 & 3 The Bold The Brave & The Best - 30 Years of Australian Animation. Followed by Broome, 14th - 15th March, Sun Picture Theatre www.sunpictures.com.au Screening: International 1 The Bold The Brave & The Best - 30 Years of Australian Animation.

Flickerfest also heads off across the seas in March hitting THE LONDON AUSTRALIAN FILM FESTIVAL 6th - 16th March 2008. The Barbican¹s popular London Australian Film Festival, is an eagerly awaited annual event on both the London and UK film calendar. Now in its 14th year the 10 day festival provides UK audiences with a unique overview of Australian cinema today.
For the fifth year Flickerfest is thrilled to be working in association with the Barbican in London at the highly successful London Australian film festival. LAFF will be showcasing some of this years best short films as part of the LAFF Shorts Programme, with a Flickerfest short film to be showcased prior to most feature films.
