Golden Globe Nominations.

December 17th 2009 12:48

The Globes Nominations are now out and it will be interesting to see how many of the 10 pictures nominated in the dramatic and musical/comedy categories make it onto the list of 10 at next years Academy Awards(R). Having only seen a handful of the films on offer, I wold have to say that my first pick for Drama would be PRECIOUS although Katherine Bigelow's THE HURT LOCKER could well take it out, while the Box Office favourite THE HANGOVER will be pushing for the comedy award.

UP IN THE AIR received most nominations with 6 followed by Rob Marshall’s NINE which came in second place with five then Quentin Tarantino’s INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS and James Cameron’s AVATAR on four apiece.

BRIGHT STAR couldn't manage a nomination which is surprising considering the acclaim lavished on the female star Abbie Cornish. Also missing were the Coen Brothers and Peter Jackson.

Hopefully the Academy will realise their error and fix it next time. Meanwhile, see who your picks are for the Globes

The 67th Golden Globes ceremony is scheduled to take place in Los Angeles on January 17.
