KRIS KRISTOFFERSON, JESSE JAMES AND BRIAN WHITE
JOIN VELVETEEN FILMS’ “HICKORY NATION”
BOSTON, MA. Kris Kristofferson, legendary singer/songwriter and actor, Jesse James (“The Flyboys”) and Brian White (“Fighting”) have attached to star in Velveteen Films’ feature film “Hickory Nation”. Previously announced cast members Molly Sims (NBC’s “Las Vegas”) and Aimee Teegarden (NBC’s “Friday Night Lights”) remain attached to the project, to begin shooting in Boston in early 2010.
Written and Directed by Velveteen’s Rebecca Cook (“Shooting Livien”, “A Touch of Fate”), “Hickory Nation” revolves around the aftermath of a mysterious hit-and-run in a small Maine coastal community, unexpectedly bringing together a teacher and her two students, each struggling to resolve their own secrets and lies. Kristofferson will play the father of the small-town teacher (Sims), with White as her husband. James is to play one of the students - a confused teen accused of the hit-and-run.
“Hickory Nation” is the fourth feature produced through Velveteen Films. Previous productions include indie festival favorite “Shooting Livien” with Jason Behr (“The Grudge”), Dominic Monaghan (“Lord of the Rings”, ABC’s “Lost”) and Sarah Wynter (Fox’s “24”, NBC’s “Windfall”), and “A Touch of Fate” with Teri Hatcher (ABC’s “Desperate Housewives”).
Courtney DuBois is attached as both Producer and the LA based Casting Director and Jodi Collins is the New York based Casting Director.
