Are you passionate about refugee issues? Are you an emerging refugee or non-refugee filmmaker willing to showcase your talent to a diverse audience?
Triumphant! International invites you to take part in Australia’s second annual Refugee Film Festival. The festival will take place on the evening of Thursday 19 June at the Pitt St Congregation Uniting Church in Sydney’s CBD. The film festival will screen as part of 2008 National Refugee Week and further screenings will take place around Australia.
In interpreting refugee issues through the medium of film, topics you may wish to explore include, but are not limited to:
– Family
– Age
– Language
– New Beginnings
– Perceptions
– Multiculturalism
– Integration
– Education
– Identity
– Values
Your film submissions should be no more than 10 minutes in length and be submitted in DVD format. You are encouraged to submit a written transcript of the film in English so that we may arrange for the film to be translated into other languages for the benefit of refugee communities.
Entries close on 4 May 2008.
