The 2010 Honolulu International Film Festival's Call For Entries is officially open!
The festival will be held March 12 -14, 2010 along the pristine shores of world-famous Waikiki Beach at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort.
The Honolulu International Film Festival is a crossroads of the world, bridging the gap between East and West and held annually on the beautiful island of Oahu, Hawaii. Surrounded by the sparkling Pacific and spectacular scenery, the Honolulu International Film Festival recognizes outstanding achievement in filmmaking from around the world in an attempt to showcase the finest independent cinema the world has to offer while helping to advance the careers of promising filmmakers by providing a platform through which their talents can be recognized.
The Honolulu International Film Festival offers a variety of film screenings, special Hawaiian premieres, celebrity tributes, interactive panel discussions, a screenplay competition, a filmmaker reception luau, as well as a closing award ceremony and brunch.
Each year, the Honolulu International Film Festival awards the winning filmmakers with the prestigious Golden Palm Awards, a signature statement of excellence in the arts of filmmaking and storytelling. Juried awards are given in all categories to celebrate achievements in filmmaking, screenwriting and acting in addition to cash prizes and awards from our sponsors.
The festival also invites all filmmakers, writers and selected actors to participate in festival panels and roundtable discussions with audiences, producers, directors and screenwriters to explore the craft and creative process of cinema, as well as the business of
making, financing, and distributing a film.
Festival activities include parties, live music and galas, traditional Hawaiian Luaus, a filmmaker reception and the closing award ceremony and brunch.
