To celebrate the August 27th release of The Girl Who Played With Fire, Momentum Pictures are offering a unique opportunity to fans in Bristol, London, Oxford, Nottingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Cambridge, Newcastle, Dublin, Liverpool, Sheffield and Manchester to take part in a nationwide search for ‘The Girl’ and win amazing prizes!



The Girl Who Played With Fire, the second film in the critically acclaimed millennium trilogy, releases in cinemas nationwide on August 27th - but ‘The Girl’ could already be hiding out in your city!

Concept: 60 copies of The Girl Who Played With Fire have been hidden in 12 key cities around the UK and Eire. The books contain special codes allowing those who find them to unlock a variety of fantastic prizes from private screenings to cinema tickets and exclusive film merchandise.

Inspired by the film’s heroine Lisbeth Salander, Momentum Pictures have teamed up with Metro Online, book sharing site BookCrossing and local cinemas to hide 60 copies of The Girl Who Played with Fire book at various locations around the country. Each book contains a secret code to unlock a variety of different prizes at metro.co.uk – but fans have to find the books first!

The hunt for The Girl Who Played With Fire starts at BookCrossing where keen investigators can find clues to locate the hidden books and unlock their secrets on Lisbeth’s bookshelf at Really Long Link Over a seven day period clues will be provided to locate books hidden in Bristol, London, Oxford, Nottingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Cambridge, Newcastle, Dublin, Liverpool, Sheffield and Manchester.


Those lucky enough to locate one of these special books will not only have an opportunity to read one of the most popular thrillers in recent history, but can also use the code inside the book to redeem their prize at Metro.co.uk!

Hot on the heels of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo comes the sequel, The Girl Who Played with Fire.

The new film sees Lisbeth Salander (Noomi Rapace) and crusading journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Michael Nyqvist) once again caught up in a brutal murder investigation. Having served his prison sentence, Blomkvist returns to Millennium intent on exposing a billion dollar sex trafficking ring.

When two of his researchers are murdered, Salander is framed for the murders and emerges as the police’s chief suspect. Unconvinced, Blomkvist attempts to track her down and find out the truth. But secretive hacker Salander goes on the run and soon stumbles upon secrets of her own past.
