Keanu King of the Streets in Sydney!
April 8th 2008 05:04
Keanu Reeves arrives in Sydney next Sunday in preparation for the red carpet premiere of his latest film STREET KINGS on April 15. Reeves plays a veteran LA cop who after being implicated in the execution style killing of another officer, sets out to find those responsible with the help of a junior detective (Chris Evans).
Forest Whitaker plays Ludlow’s Supervisor and is given the onerous task of keeping the veteran within the law while at the same time keeping at arms length Internal Affairs investigator Captain Biggs played by Hugh Laurie (House).
Asked about the real life issue of gun control, Reeves sat on the fence stating that while the average citizen should be allowed to own a gun he wouldn’t be happy with everyone having one.
“I could probably argue both sides of the it. I’m not fundamentally against citizens having access to a weapon. But I think it has complications – in the use of it. It’s probably not the wisest thing. Obviously, it has consequences.”
When queried on his personal life after recently making comments in the press about his desire to have children, the 43 year old revealed he is still on the lookout for a partner.
“A perfect match? I’m not looking for that. How about one that works?”
STREET KINGS opens nationally on April 17.
