Opening Red Carpet on July 22, 201
On July 22, 2010, LA Shorts Fest will held its second opening night red carpet at Laemmle's Sunset 5, 8000 Sunset Boulevard, with Talent attached to the shorts in the lineup and Talent invited to be part of the jury.
The movies, shown on opening night, will be:
- 'B.O.B.'s BIG BREAK' with Seth Rogen, Will Arnett, Hugh Laurie, directed by Robert Porter
- 'IDIOTS' with Zoe Saldana, Kate Bosworth and Janeane Garofalo, directed by Kat Coiro,
- 'KIDNAPPING Caitlynn' with Julie Benz, Jason Biggs and Jenny Mollen, directed by Kat Coiro,
- 'THE DRUNK HISTORY' Episodes 2, 5 & 6 with Jack Black, Will Ferrell, Don Cheadle, Zooey Deschanel, John C. Reily, Crispin Glover, directed by Jeremy Konner created by Derek Waters
There will be a Q&A at the end of the screening.
The 14th LA Shorts Film Fest will open July 22, 2010 and run until July 30, 2010.
LA Short Film Fest will announce shortly:
- Members of the Jury,
- Maverick Award recipient,
- Programme,
LA Shorts Film Fest honors those individuals who have achieved excellence in short films. As the largest short film festival in the world with 285 film screenings and 9 days of educational panels, interactive and entertaining events, the festival has quickly become the industry standard for showcasing and awarding undiscovered talent.
The award categories are: Best of Fest, Best Foreign Film, Best Drama, Best Comedy, Best Documentary, Best Animation, Best Experimental, Best Music and Best Creative Commercial
As officially recognized by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, some of these films may go on to receive Oscar nominations. In the past, 33 films have received Oscar nominations with 11 winning the coveted Oscar statue.
