Acclaimed filmmaker Zack Snyder (Watchmen, 300, Sucker Punch) makes his animation debut with the fantasy family adventure Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole based on the beloved ‘Guardians of Ga’Hoole’ book series by Kathryn Lasky.

The film follows Soren, a young owl enthralled by his father’s epic stories of the Guardians of Ga’Hoole, a mythic band of winged warriors who had fought a great battle to save all of owlkind from the evil Pure Ones.

The film features the voices of Emily Barclay, Abbie Cornish, Ryan Kwanten, Anthony LaPaglia, Miriam Margoyles, Helen Mirren, Sam Neill, Richard Roxburgh, Geoffrey Rush, Jim Sturgess, Hugo Weaving and David Wenham.

Q&A Guests:
David Scott (Previs & Lensing Director) has worked across a number of digital disciplines over the past 15 years, from directing animated children’s television to his current role at Animal Logic. In 2006, Scott directed 40 episodes of the Emmy Award-winning CGI animated series Animalia. Previously, Scott worked with Peter Jackson as a pre-visualisation artist and creature technical director on The Lord of the Rings trilogy; was a lead concept artist on the Oscar winning animated feature Happy Feet; and visual effects art director for sequences on both Superman Returns and Baz Lurhmann’s Australia.

Katrina Peers (Associate Producer) was a key member of producer Zareh Nalbandian’s team throughout the production of the Oscar winning Happy Feet. In her role as Associate Producer on Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole, Katrina was responsible for working closely with editorial through the story process, working with voice talent and overseeing recording sessions. Further, Katrina worked closely with Sound Supervisor Wayne Pashley, the sound team and film composer David Hirshfelder. Following the project through post production, Katrina oversaw the film’s sound storytelling aspect to bring the world of warring owls in Ga’Hoole to audiences.
