A big month for festivals in Sydney with the Alliance Francáis French Film Festival opening on Wednesday March 5 at the Academy Twin in Paddington and the Sydney Latino Festival opening the following day just up the road at the Chauvel Cinema.
Throughout Europe a plethora of Film Festivals making March very exciting for film lovers throughout the world spoilt for choice. Other festivals throughout Europe include the Cinema du Reel also in France, and Bradford Film Festival in the UK, Sofia Int’l, Faces of Love, Cinema Novo and The Night of 1000 Screams just a sample of what’s on offer throughout the European continent.
In North America, we kick off the month with San Jose, Sedona, Florida, Palm Springs, Tiburon, San Diego and Chicago just a few of the festivals available in the USA while Ottawa and Calgary give Canadian film lovers the chance to head out to the cinemas.
With the Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and Film Festival wrapping up on March 1, the Out in Africa South African G&L FF and London G&L FF will be showcasing the gay cinema throughout March.
No matter where you are, there is definitely a festival close byso go and broaden your horizons. Attend a screening you wouldn’t normally go to and you’ll be surprised how much fun it is to get away for a short time from the mainstream commercial films available at your local multiplex.
