New series to employ 330 people
March 16th 2009 04:23
A new drama series is set to begin filming early next month in and around Sydney creating jobs for over 300 industry professionals over the next 6 months. Based on the themes that have performed well on commercial television over the years, the series is set to concentrate on two brothers who are members of the Special Operations Rescue Unit. Of course the two are extremely competitive which will obviously lead to narrowly averted disaster scenarios and confusing love triangles as the boys try to get the better of each other each week, but surely after two decades of similar shows the likes of POLICE RESCUE, FIREFLIES etc, it might be time to try and look at this from a different perspective. With filming still in the pre-production stage, lets hope the writers and producers take a few risks and try something new.
Have a read below of the press released by the NSW Government last month. They sure like to take the credit when something looks good. And if the show doesn’t rate well, will they step up and take some of the responsibility. At least they are giving some much needed financial support. Now all they need to do is get those local government thieves to stop charging so much for the right to film in certain areas. Surely the fact that your area is being showcased on National Television and in some cases Globally would be enough. Will they return a percentage of revenue if the show helps increase tourist revenue for them. Maybe the industry should start looking at putting that into their contracts.
Anyway, enough of the ranting, and lets hope we get an enjoyable and entertaining series when it’s released next year. series to employ 330 people
