Heath Ledger left nothing behind?
Michelle William’s father has challenged the family of recently departed Heath Ledger to publicly state the value of his fortune after documents filed in a New York court listed his assets at just $145,000. The public attacks continue on Kim Ledger after his estranged brothers recently warned Michelle to be wary following what appears to be possible mismanagement of their late father’s $2 million estate.
Mr Ledger took over his father’s affairs in 1986 and borrowed against the assets effectively leaving the estate in debt before the Western Australian Supreme Court removed him as administrator in 1994. Mr Ledger signed a deed in 1998 to repay $1million, but the money has never been repaid.
Mr Williams issued the challenge through the Sydney based Sunday Telegraph stating, “It’s really simple: just come clean with everything. It’s so easy to resolve this. HE just has to say where the income went and where the assets are.”
The New York documents declare that ‘the total value of their shares of the estate will be $145,000, with furniture and fixtures worth $20,000, a Toyota Prius worth $25,000 and $100,000 in miscellaneous bank account.
The 2003 will names Ledger’s father, mother and sisters as the only beneficiaries, although the documents lodged in NY acknowledge Heath’s daughter Matilda as an interested party.
