OPEN AUDIENCE TEST SCREENING
September 26th 2009 02:53
Being precious just won’t cut it!
Tuesday October 13, 6.30pm – 8.30pm
Submit your project by Sept 29.
The Metro Screen Network is calling all ‘works in progress’ of any genre, style and format [max 20 mins] to take part in its Open Audience Test Screening session on Oct 13.
This is a genuine opportunity to gain constructive and critical feedback from a film savvy audience before distributing your production and releasing it to the world.
You’re sure your film will connect with an audience, but you’re the only one who’s seen it. You like the latest cut, but your producer has their doubts. You’re one step away from locking off your edit, but you just can’t make that final decision.
‘When you work on a production intensely, it’s easy to loose perspective on the story you want to tell’, says Network Coordinator, Michael Chrisoulakis, ‘A single piece of insightful feedback could make a difference between a good film and great film.’
Arm yourself with questionnaires, drill the audience for feedback, or simple observe to see if they are laughing in all the right places [and for all the right reasons].
As an audience member, discover and understand your fellow filmmaker's processes and see what works, what doesn't and most importantly why? Join in the critical feedback discussions, hear what others have to say and gain insight that can be applied to your own projects.
“After I completed THE FANTASTICAL WORLD OF SCRIPTWRITING, my neon animation about how to write a script, I had absolutely no idea what to do with it so I sent it to Metro Screen….I received terrifically valuable and positive input from those who viewed it. This helped immensely to set me on my path.. Since that initial first screening, my film has screened around Sydney, in the UK and now I've been asked to screen it for the 40th anniversary of Woodstock in New York.” Past Audience Test Screening participant Jack Feldstein.
