CHANNEL 4 FIRST CUT PITCH
Five contenders will compete in front of a panel of television executives, including Channel 4 Commissioning Editors. Everything from the candidates’ CVs to their pitching skills will be under scrutiny. The prize: a 10-12 week placement to direct a half-hour film with a £50 000 budget for Channel 4’s critically-acclaimed documentary new talent strand, ‘First Cut.’

CURRENT TV SERIES PITCH
Current TV is raising the bar by offering four emerging production companies or producers the opportunity to pitch their ideas for innovative documentary series in a bid to walk away with £2.5k of development funding from Current TV.
Current TV will select four submissions to pitch at the ‘Current TV Series Pitch’ at Doc/Fest 2010 as part of DFG Day on Thursday 4 November, and the finalist will receive £2.5k development funding and support from Current TV with a view to (hopefully) getting them made and on air.

WELLCOME TRUST PITCH
The Wellcome Trust Broadcast Development Awards Pitch is returning to Sheffield Doc/Fest for a third year.
Programme makers are invited to apply for the chance to pitch a science idea (documentary, online or games formats) to a panel of Wellcome Trust executives and science commissioning editors.
Awards of up to £10,000 are available and may be awarded to more than one winner.

SPECIALIST FACTUAL NEW TALENT PITCH

Do you have what it takes to bring science, history and religion alive for documentary audiences across the world? The Specialist Factual New Talent Pitch at Sheffield Doc/Fest gives new talent presenters from a range of academic disciplines the chance to show a panel of commissioning editors, specialist factual producers and leading expert talent what they can do!
Aspiring presenters will pitch cutting edge research in their area as a documentary programme idea in front of a live audience, in a bid to convince a panel that they are the next new face to translate their academic passion to the screen. The winner will make a development film in house at Discovery Channel Europe!

MINI-MEETMARKET
The Mini-MeetMarket is a unique opportunity for new and emerging filmmakers to get feedback on their documentary idea. Up to 30 filmmakers were selected to take part in this project pitching and steering session. Each will have the opportunity to meet industry executives in an intimate roundtable environment, getting a response on their pitch, as well as pointers on how the idea needs developing, where to go next, and how to improve the chances of getting it funded.
