Play Now Act Now launches its call for entries across three festival categories in competitions spanning five months, with 30 finalists and a grand final event for the top 10 in short film, digital design and mircofiction. All work must be made by NSW residents aged 16-25 years and must engage with the issue and culture of drugs and alcohol.

“Play Now Act Now is a festival like no other; an exhibition space bristling with ideas that we hope will inspire artists from different disciplines to rise to our creative challenge. I’m very excited to see how young artists will tackle the culture of drugs and alcohol with originality, intelligence and skill in our competition.” Scott Henderson, Festival Director
Metro Screen is partnering with NSW Health for the eighth year in a row to provide this drug and alcohol awareness project in the form of three online competitions running simultaneously over the next five months at PNAN
Kicking off in May the first of five monthly competitions will take entries online, permit users to vote for their favourite short film, digital design and mircofiction and host an online awards ceremony where six winners – one by popular vote, one by official selection – will take home a cash prize and a place in our grand final.
