Don't miss two special showings of Unmistaken Child, the film the LA Times Kenneth Turan calls a "privileged glimpse deep into spiritual territory with the strength of revelation," Friday, October 16 at the Varsity Theatre at 6:00p and 8:30p.
Unmistaken Child follows the search for the reincarnation of a world-renowned Tibetan master who passed away at age 84. The Dalai Lama charges the deceased monk's devoted disciple to search for his master reborn. On foot, mule and even helicopter, through breathtaking landscapes traditional Tibetan villages, the monk performs rarely seen ritualistic tests designed to determine the likelihood of reincarnation.
Tickets for these special screenings of Unmistaken Child are discounted 25% for AIFF members and available now at the Varsity Theatre Box Office. The festival's monthly series features Southern Oregon premieres and encores of film festival favorites showing on selected Fridays through November at the Varsity Theatre. The series benefits the non-profit film festival and is made possible by Coming Attractions Theatres.
