This Friday night, join Rooftop Films, New York Magazine and KY atop the roof at Open Road Rooftop for yet another amazing night of great films, great music, and a boisterous after party featuring complimentary Radeberger Pilsner. The evening starts off at 8:30 with a live performance by Deer Tick, presented with Sound Fix records. After the music, we will present a fantastic program of new, romantic short films about those wonderful, hectic, confusing and terrifying emotions that accompany the start of a new relationship. Raw emotions and questionable choices are the very elements that make a new sensual encounter truly thrilling and romantic—and that make a romantic film genuinely riveting to watch.

Afterwards, all in attendance are invited to head down to Fontana's to meet the filmmakers and have some complimentary beer, courtesy of Radeberger.

All of our shows this year have sold out , so we definitely recommend you buy your tickets in advance--they are available for just $9. Seats on the roof are first come, first served, so make sure to get there early to get a seat. You can also bring your own blanket or folding chair if you like.

The Brukman garment workers in Argentina take control of their factory during the 2001 financial crisis, winning a radical victory for worker-owned industry.

It’s easy to think that small groups can’t affect nation-wide issues, such as the economy, or that individuals can’t change large companies. The Women of Brukman proves that committed workers and activists can revolutionize their workplace, their country, and the world.

In 1998, Argentina plunged into a recession, and by the end of 2001 the nation was in turmoil. By some accounts, up to 25% of the population was unemployed.

It was during this period that the employees at the Brukman garment factory showed up for work one day to find that the bosses had simply disappeared. Being owed months of back pay, and with no other employment opportunities available, the workers (primarily women) decided simply to do their jobs, with or without the company’s owners. The results were astonishing.
