VOLUNTEER WITH ROOFTOP FILMS
Rooftop Films seeks volunteers for its 2009 Summer Series. As a non-profit arts organization, Rooftop depends on volunteers like you for its growth and success. Volunteering with Rooftop is a great opportunity to see fantastic films, find out about the inner workings of film festivals, and meet the Rooftop staff and the filmmakers. Many of our volunteers go on to become interns or paid staff with Rooftop, and many more become good friends. If you are interested in volunteering, email Daisy Rosario at volunteer@rooftopfilms.com.
There are many ways to volunteer:
SHOW VOLUNTEERS
Need volunteers for over 40 shows this summer, all of which will be outdoors between Saturday, May 15th, and Friday, September 18th. Most shows are on Friday or Saturday nights, with a few special shows on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Volunteers can help out at as many and as few shows as they are available for.
STREET TEAM VOLUNTEERS
As a street team member you have the opportunity to connect with the community on a grassroots level and help spread the word on what we do. Throughout the summer we distribute flyers/programs around the city. We are looking for enthusiastic people who are available during the daytime hours to help us cover as many different neighborhoods as possible. The schedule is flexible; volunteer for as many days that work for your schedule.
ADMINISTRATIVE VOLUNTEERS
Rooftop needs volunteers for specific positions within the organization. We seek talented and motivated people to help the organization grow. Listed below are positions that we are looking to fill. These positions are un-paid but are flexible to your schedule. Please indicate which position you are interested in and include a brief description of yourself and work experience.
PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGMENT:
Seeking volunteer with PR experience and excellent writing and communication skills. Regional and national press contacts are a plus. They should have strong enthusiasm for independent film. Responsibilities include strategic PR planning, media relations, writing press releases and provide guidance to Rooftop staff on PR.
TECHNICAL COORDINATION:
Seeking knowledgeable individuals who have experience with audio and video technical setup and operation. Should have a basic understanding of the operations of various projectors, screens and sound systems.
BUSINESS MANAGER:
Rooftop is in need of an experienced individual to provide guidance and handle various business and financial aspects of the organization. Business, financial, or law related experience required with solid budgetary skills. Knowledge of tax laws and legal issues regarding non-profit organization regulations is ideal, but not required.
WEBSITE MANAGMENT:
Assist Rooftop with website maintenance and design.
GRAPHIC DESIGN:
Assist with design of various marketing materials including flyers, posters, postcards, etc.
