While this may not be technically film related, any promising writer needs to have their work workshopped as the drafts get closer to completion. Being a free event, there really is no excuse for not turning up! (Maybe if you dont live in Sydney we can allow you an exemption this once...)
Sydney Theatre Company presents - ROUGH DRAFT #6
Wharf 2, Saturday 17 April at 5pm
One scene. One playwright. Five interpretations.
The next Rough Draft will be an investigation into the infinite staging possibilities presented by a single piece of text. Each day a different theatre artist and a team of five actors will workshop the short scene, penned by playwright Rita Kalnejais.
The brief to the five artists running the workshops is simple: they can use their time to investigate the text in any way they choose but they must generate a small amount of material for the public showing at the end of the week. Participating in this ambitious experiment in text, interpretation and form are Richard Cottrell (director), Stefan Gregory (sound designer and composer), Alice Osborne (puppeteer), Kate Revz (director) and Kate Champion (choreographer).
This will be a rare opportunity for a playwright to experience a range of responses to her writing and for an audience to gain insight into the infinite interpretive possibilities of a text.
