SPAA FRINGE 2010 UPDATE.
September 23rd 2010 04:09
SPAA Fringe 2010 have announced David Michôd, writer-director of internationally acclaimed Australian film Animal Kingdom, as keynote speaker for the October 22 – 23 conference at Powerhouse Museum in Sydney. Michôd now joins Cora Olson, Founding Partner and Producer at Present Pictures, as feature speakers for the conference.
Michôd was catapulted from relative obscurity to filmmaking fame earlier this year, when his film, Animal Kingdom, was awarded the grand jury prize at Sundance Film Festival – an accolade which until then, had never been awarded to an Australian film. A crime thriller inspired by Melbourne’s Walsh Street murders that was 10 years in the making, Michôd will speak in-depth about his success and provide inspiration for other emerging filmmakers, writers, directors and producers on what can be achieved through ambition, sweat and the right connections.
