SPAA FRINGE DATES FOR 2010

SPAA Fringe will be held at the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney on the 22 and 23 October.
SPAA Fringe is an interactive two-day conference aimed at those who are serious about building a career in the Australian screen industry. The event is comprised of workshops, roundtables, one-on-one sessions, panel discussions, film screenings and social networking events.
In 2009 the conference presented an impressive line-up of speakers that included Oscar winning and double BAFTA nominated Producer Mia Bays from the UKs Missing In Action Films; AFI award winning Producer Kath Shelper (Samson Delilah); the team behind the first Australian Muslim comedy series Salam Caf; Dario Russo, creator of the hilarious viral Italian Spiderman; and filmmaker and new media auteur Nicholas Carlton who created Australias hit social web series, OzGir( www.ozgirl.tv )l.
In 2010 filmmakers will have the opportunity to meet and pitch their ideas to executives from SBS, ABC, Foxtel as well distributors and established producers.
The program offers insight, creative direction and practical ways to connect screen professionals via several channels including The Melting Pot, an online portal where projects can be posted; resources, investment and marketing opportunities tracked and collaborations formed.
