Stop Motion Animation Competition with A Town Called Panic!
September 19th 2010 09:05
To celebrate the forthcoming release of the stop-motion feature A TOWN CALLED PANIC, officially selected for this year’s Cannes Film Festival, Optimum Releasing have teamed up with Shooting People to offer their readers the chance to have their own stop-motion comedy short screened prior to the feature at the Curzon Soho in London!

The stop-motion comedy can be a brand new short or taken from a longer film, but must be no longer than 5 minutes. The winning film will be chosen by Hammer & Tongs, the director-producer duo behind Son of Rambow, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy!
A TOWN CALLED PANIC is an animated gem that follows the surreal adventures of a lovable hyperactive plastic trio – Cowboy, Indian and Horse. I have pasted the EPK and synopsis below for further detail.
Animated plastic toys like Cowboy, Indian and Horse have problems too. Cowboy and Indian's plan to surprise Horse with a homemade birthday gift backfires when they destroy his house instead. Surreal adventures ensue as the trio travel to the centre of the earth, trek across frozen tundra and discover a parallel underwater universe where pointy headed (and dishonest!) creatures live. Each speedy character is voiced - and animated - as if their very air contains both amphetamines and laughing gas. With panic a permanent feature of life in this papier mache town, will Horse and his girlfriend ever be alone?
