"The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" is a fantasy set in the present day, telling the
story of Dr Parnassus (*Christopher Plummer*) and his amazing 'Imaginarium': a travelling
happiness or darkness and sadness.
Blessed with the gift of guiding the imaginations of others, Dr Parnassus is cursed with
a dark secret. Long ago he made a bet with the devil, Mr Nick (*Tom Waits*), in which he
won immortality. Centuries later, on meeting his true love, Dr Parnassus made another
deal with the devil, trading his immortality for youth, on condition that when his
first-born reached its 16th birthday, he or she would become the property of Mr Nick. But
when Mr Nick arrives to collect, he renegotiates the wager...
In what would be his final performance, *Heath Ledger* turns in a typically charming,
delightful and surprising turn -- ably assisted by the likes of *Johnny Depp*, *Colin
and *Monty Python legend*, *Terry Gilliam* -- who will join us live on the line from
London after the film for an exclusive audience Q&A!
