THE WORLD’S BIGGEST LITTLE PLAY FESTIVAL
Short Sweet, the world’s biggest little play festival, returns to MOVIE EXTRA in June with the second season of TO BE OR NOT TO BE.
TO BE OR NOT TO BE shines a competitive spotlight on 10 amateur acting troupes as they vie for a chance to perform at the gala final of Short Sweet in front of a live audience.
Hosted by Ed Kavalee (Thank God You’re Here), this second season of TO BE OR NOT TO BE will see each episode begin with a warts’n’all assessment of the plays led by talent agent Mark Morrissey, whose clients include Liam Hemsworth and Kerry Armstrong. Georgie Parker (All Saints) and Sacha Horler (My Year Without Sex) join Morrissey on the judging panel.
Full of drama, comedy, thrills and even some spills, TO BE OR NOT TO BE, was filmed on location at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), and follows the tension-filled contestants as they plan and execute their plays from their first rehearsal all the way to their climatic end on the Gala stage at NIDA’s Parade Theatre.
The 10 episodes each include a mentoring session with Mark Morrissey and Creative Director & Co-founder of The Actor’s Centre, Dean Carey. The Actor’s Centre is a respected independent training facility established in 1987 to nurture and provide education in the performing arts.
TO BE OR NOT TO BE premieres at 10:30pm on Tuesday, June 1, on MOVIE EXTRA with encore screenings on Wednesdays at 12:00pm and Sundays at 3:30pm.
