Entry to SonyTropfest 2008 has closed!
January 18th 2008 02:04
This year the festival received nearly 600 entries from NSW, VIC, SA, TAS, WA,
QLD and ACT which is a little down on previous years, but still shows the huge number of budding directors actors and cinematographers out in this big wide land down under.
Preselection judging will take place next week. TROPFESTS panel of nine industry professionals will watch each entry and choose a shortlist for consideration by Festival Founder and Creative Director John Polson.
The 16 Finalists will be confirmed during the week commencing Monday 28th January. In addition, this year, the Participate Film Academy has generously given Sony Tropfest three scholarships to award to three short listed filmmakers to encourage their development and interest in film production.
• One full scholarship to Participate feature filmmaking course
• Two half scholarships to Participate feature filmmaking course
Award winners will be announced during the Awards Ceremony at Sony Tropfest Sunday 17th February 2008.
Sony Tropfest 2008 Finalist Films will premiere on Sunday 17th February 2008! Grab a picnic basket and head to your nearest venue for a fun-filled day!
