TROPJUNIOR FINALISTS ANNOUNCED

Trop Jr is jumping up and down with excitement to announce that Yumi Stynes from Max, will be our MC on the festival day! Yumi will appear on stage from 2pm as our master of ceremonies and oversee theawards show.
With a keen attendance record at the Sony Tropfest festival, a finger firmly on the pulse of modern youth culture and a back catalogue of very cool haircuts, we are thrilled to have her involved with the event!
After a very difficult process, the Trop Jr team is very proud to formally announce the first Trop Jr finalists.
They are:
BESTIES (NSW)
Director: Jasmin-Johanna Mobbs
Synopsis: Besties is a film about Ben and his five chooks. Come on a journey into his backyard to discover some interesting facts about chooks and the mischief they can get up to.
FREE FREE AT LAST (NSW)
Director: Japonica Mauala
Synopsis: A young girl awakens in a dungeon, surrounded by darkness. There are strange noises and smells and the distant echoes of something terrible.
IMAGINATURE (VIC)
Directors: Chester Greaves, Callen Hardie and Matt Cochran
Synopsis: What happens when nature gets muddled up with imagination? Found objects take on an absurd life of their own as they evolve and mutate into different forms.
ODE TO COLLECTOR (VIC)
Director: Marisa Lai
Synopsis: What are the motives behind a compulsive collector? What do they collect and why? Meet Mr. Richard Henry Sullivan and peek into his secret life.
POOR JOSHUA VERDE (NSW)
Director: Guy Verge Wallace
Synopsis: A boy with a tragic childhood goes on an enchanting and emotional adventure that helps reconnect with his family and utilize his creative talents so that he can be happy once again.
REMOTE (QLD)
Director: Nera Skripic-Vuckovic
Synopsis: A sadistic headmaster rules his school with an iron fist... but when a student discovers a mysterious link between a remote and the headmaster, has he picked on one kid too many?
THE DUCKS OF GENERAL GREEN (QLD)
Director: Tim Brown
Synopsis: A retired military officer loses the plot and starts treating his ducks as soldiers.
THE LIFE OF PERFARTO (NSW)
Directors: Main Arm Upper Public School, Students Years 5/6
Synopsis: A comedic biography about a superstar called Perfarto Pumpkinson with bizarre and special talents
