TRPOFEST and TROPFEST Jr closes in 4 weeks.
December 21st 2008 04:20
With less than four weeks left TROPFEST and Junior deadlines for submissions are fast approaching, so if you want to get your entries in to the worlds largest short film festival than you had better get out of that Xmas party mode and get back into filmmaking mode ASAP. This festival is a favourite time of year come rain or shine. And it's been pretty wet over the years!
Here are some quick details from TROPFEST.
2009 Movie Extra Tropfest deadline – 15 January 2009 - fast approaching and only one month away!
All short films submitted must be no longer than seven minutes in length and must include the Tropfest Signature Item (TSI), to show the film was made specifically for the 2009 festival. The TSI for 2009 is ‘SPRING’.
Following the entry deadline, a panel of industry representatives will view each film, from the over 700 anticipated entries, to select an initial shortlist. A finalist line up of 16 films will then be selected by Director and Founder John Polson.
These 16 films will be screened in front of a live audience of over 150, 000 people at the Movie Extra Tropfest festival on Sunday 22 February 2009, as well via a live television broadcast on the Movie Extra channel, part of Movie Network Channels. The 2009 Movie Extra Tropfest winner will be announced on the night of the festival.
Movie Extra Tropfest receives hundreds of short film entries from across Australia and abroad and the finalists are given the largest ‘premiere’ night a short film can receive anywhere in the world! Additionally, with the new Movie Extra partnership extending the viewer audience base, budding filmmakers are encouraged not to delay on entering this vibrant film festival and missing out on the opportunity to be seen in households across Australia!
2009 entry forms and filmmaker info guides are now available to download from the Movie Extra Tropfest website www.tropfest.com/au. Also included are festival details, screening venues and regular updates on all things Trop.
