Underground Call Out 2010
June 8th 2010 04:10
The deadlines for the 2009 Sydney Underground Film Festival are fast approaching! So, filmmakers everywhere are invited to submit their feature length, short or documentary films as we continue to seek out new and exciting underground film talent.
Promoting innovation and fearless filmmaking in all its forms, SUFF believes there is a great need to create awareness of the endless possibilities of film, inside and outside of the established industry. For us, the word ‘underground’ can best be defined as a subversive spirit, reacting against conservatism and formulaic filmmaking practices.
As past audiences already know, the Sydney Underground Film Festival aims to change an ingrained culture of cinematic complacency as we continue to revitalise and inspire genuine enthusiasm for cinema in all its forms.
Providing a platform for the development and promotion of new and exciting works by filmmakers world-wide, the Sydney Underground Film Festival continues to nurture a growing alternative film culture in Sydney.
Held over four nights, the Festival will include twenty screenings of
new Australian and International films at Sydney’s most dynamic venue,
The Factory Theatre, Marrickville.
And, audiences will be happy to know that our Earlybird Festival passes go on sale from June 1, 2009!
